DESCRIPTION:Join the mother/daughter team of Grace and Laura Scalzo as they combine their love of nature\, photography\, gardening\, and conservation to present a two-part series\, the first program on October 25th\, will focus on gardening for butterflies with photography tips and comments sprinkled in\, followed by the second session on November 1st\, which will be mostly photography with garden tips sprinkled in. They will share their knowledge and experience on inviting desired species into your outdoor spaces. Learn to maximize photographic potential by implementing design and plant choices in any space and creatively photograph these stunning pollinators.\n\nPlease note that you do not need large gardens or fancy photo gear to enjoy and learn from this series.\n\n\n\nAbout the Speakers:\n\nLaura Scalzo is a professional violinist with a great love for plants and gardening. Originally from New York\, moving to San Antonio presented an opportunity to learn about gardening in a different climate. She is in the process of converting her suburban yard into a productive plot producing organic produce and filled with native plants to support local pollinator and wildlife populations. Laura shares her gardening adventures on her blog\, www.rootsinthecitytx.com.\n\n \n\nGrace Scalzo came to nature photography from a love of simply being outside. Her journey began by creating photographs of her observations in nature. She now treats wildlife photography as an art form\, striving to display the beauty of the great outdoors through her work. Grace is an author\, having published two children's books and many articles\, and teacher\, offering workshops and lessons about photography. She is a frequent presenter at libraries and birding groups.
